Understanding Constituent Resource

Constituent resources are not used independently; they must first be incorporated into a final resource before they perform any role, as with a car’s engine, which functions only as part of the car, or a computer’s CPU, which functions only as part of the computer. The Constituent Resource Locus is often paired with a Final Resource Locus specifically to track this incorporation, with one explicit exception: under “jumping,” the Final Resource Locus is left blank and the barcode skips directly to the Work Group Locus, which is done when the constituent resource describes most information resources, investment resources, and inputs to the customer’s product.
