Activities & Resources: The Grammar

Course overview

Once the Foundations course establishes what the Locus Model is and why it exists, this course supplies the grammar it actually runs on. Every Economic System is described by two kinds of terms: Activities, the verbs describing what a system does, and Resources, the nouns describing what it does it with. This is the longest course in the series — thirteen articles — and it reads most naturally in two halves: the first six trace the Activity Cycle from its four root activities down to the relationships between its 36 parts, and the final seven trace Resources from the six categories of economic morphology down through subject resources, their roles, and the edge cases that don’t sort cleanly.

Read Activities first, then Resources — each half stands on its own, but together they give the Locus Model its full compositional vocabulary. See the Lexicon for the term-by-term reference once you’ve read through both.

Key themes
