Understanding Standardized Activity Cycle

Because reorienting each firm’s cycle around its own product would classify every company simply as 2.2.2, the Standardized Activity Cycle instead fixes verb definitions relative to the central activity of the economy as a whole (production of new resources), using a ’generic manufacturing company’ thought experiment as the reference. This lets otherwise incomparable activities be classified consistently: accounting software counts as a 4.3 activity in most firms but as the central 2.2 activity inside an accounting firm, and credit databases support a bank’s 4.1 planning in most contexts but constitute the bank’s core 2.1 loan-design activity within a bank.
