Functional Trajectory

Functional Trajectory is the computed path an element traces through functional locations over time.

Where Functional Proximity measures distance between two fixed points, Functional Trajectory tracks movement — how a company, job, or product’s functional coordinates shift as it changes over time. A firm that starts out manufacturing a component and gradually moves into assembling finished products has a Functional Trajectory that a static snapshot of its current classification wouldn’t show.

This spoke is intentionally brief, for the same reason as Functional Proximity: it’s one of the patent-linked Coordinate Family terms, defined in the lexicon by a single sentence rather than developed in the textbook with worked examples. The source doesn’t support more than that, so this page doesn’t invent more than that.
