Understanding Product Line

Product line is used solely with respect to the Enterprise Barcode, and connects to the Product Line Marker, a marker in the Department Level of the Customer Field that designates a department as belonging to the auxiliary product line (’Auxiliary’) or the main one (’Main’). Product line rather than firm is the model’s unit of commercial description because a single firm may run several product lines occupying different functional positions, so the firm as a whole cannot be given one coherent functional address.
