Understanding Summary Barcode

This construct is the mechanism by which a multi-line firm receives a single primary functional identity without discarding its other product lines, which remain represented as Auxiliary Product Lines; indeed, a product line qualifies as auxiliary either by being a minority-revenue line never aggregated into the Summary Barcode, or by having been aggregated in a way that makes the resulting Summary Barcode look different from the original line. Choosing a Summary Barcode sometimes requires aggregating multiple product lines rather than picking one outright, and when aggregating barcodes, fields that match across the aggregated lines keep their value while fields that differ become Div. Where two candidate aggregations would lose the same nominal amount of specificity, the rule favors preserving a shared Enterprise Locus over a shared Final Resource Locus, since losing specificity in the Enterprise Locus is considered worse.
